A cow dogs prayer

Lord I thank you for the family

Who took me in when I was lost

And that tough hard working cowboy

That I get to call my boss

I thank you for the cattle

That stretch as far as I can see

And those days out on the range

Just the cowboy his horse and me

I thank you for the pickup

Where I take my nap each day

And the porch that gives me shelter

When the sky turns dark and grey

I thank you for the gather

When those old cows get on the fight

And he few kind words the cowboy says

When I get the job done right

O lord this life you’ve given me

Well there ain’t no better way

But if he leaves me home again tomorrow

Then his slippers are gonna pay
