GRASS RAISED MARKET LAMBS FOR SALE

EWE'S FOR SALE

The Dorper descends from the hardy, fat-tailed desert breed the Blackheaded Persian which was crossed on the more traditional American and English bred ewes. The Blackheaded Persian is known for its hardiness, thriftiness, adaptability, and remarkable fertility (American Dorper Sheep Association, 2007). We have ewes producing lambs twice per year, which is faster than the more common eight month interval associated with this breed. The Dorper breed was developed for their excellent carcass traits and has the unique ability to shed their own wool, eliminating the labor intensive task of annual shearing associated with other breeds. We have found this breed to be perfect for our operation, as they are tough on the noxious weeds, grow remarkably fast on grass alone, and produce outstanding carcasses. We have lambs for sale a couple times per year as finished meat animals.
